Hailed as an artist possessing “a surprisingly unrelenting physical technique” (The Australian) and “drawing unbelievably beautiful sonorities from the piano” (Fine Music Magazine), Jocelyn Ho has distinguished herself as one of the leading young pianists in Australia. She has won major piano competitions in Australia and overseas, including the first prize and the special prize for music by Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven in the 2010 Australian National Piano Award, the Kawai Award, prizes at the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, and has performed at Radio France, the Sydney Opera House, the Melbourne Recital Centre, New York Symphony Space, Spectrum NYC, the NSW Parliament House, the Victorian Governor’s House, the Boston Isabella Gardner Museum, and extensively in the USA and Europe. A recipient of the 2007 Australia Day Award by the National Council of Women NSW, Jocelyn Ho has been broadcasted worldwide, including frequently on ABC Classic FM on which her recital was featured live, 2MBS FM and Radio Television Hong Kong Radio 4. Her album, “Luminous Sounds,” released by Master Performers won accolades including a five-star review in Fine Music Magazine and was featured with her interview in Australia’s exclusive Classical music magazine, ABC Limelight. Also a composer-pianist, her compositions have been featured internationally, including at 2011 Tutti New Music Festival and at the Kansas City Fringe Festival. She has been featured in Who’s Who of Australian Women in 2012-2015. She is also a founding member of Sydney Piano Trio.

As a performing scholar, Jocelyn Ho has published and presented papers at international conferences in the area of performance analysis, embodiment theory, Debussy studies, and mathematics and music. She is currently completing her book on Debussy performing practices, which will be appear in the Springer series. Jocelyn Ho is currently residing in New York, and lectures at Adelphi University.
