July 26th, 2016 · No Comments

Music violin professor Guillaume Sutre has shared the following information about some of his activities this summer–he is going to be VERY busy!
He writes:

“With my wife, harpist Kyunghee Kim-Sutre, we are having a pretty busy summer.

– With cellist Sung-Won Yang, we performed in Saint-Emilion (France) on June 23rd, celebrating the 130th anniversary of friendship between South-Korea and France. At this occasion, the famous Korean/American composer Paul Yeon Lee has composed a piece for our violin and harp duo: “The Shadow of Arirang”. We were very happy and honored to give the premiere of this beautiful piece at the festival “Les Grandes Heures de Saint-Emilion”, at the very famous wine place: Chateau Beau-s?jour B?cot.

During the 2nd & 3rd week of July, we were at the Unbound Chamber Music Festival in Mammoth Lakes, CA, for the 3rd consecutive year. Many concerts with some unusual repertoire and a lot of teaching with students from every age and level. Absolutely wonderful experience in a very unique pace, we cannot wait to come back next year!

The following day will be the start of a new recording session at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music recording studio, for a new CD featuring a selection of romantic pieces exclusively written for violin and harp.

On August 8, I will be giving a masterclass at the Irvine Music Festival, a very young and very active festival, I had a great pleasure to participate to its inaugural edition last year and I very much look forward to being there again this summer!
