Two UCLA Alumni Selected as Finalists for Prestigious Warner Music Prize

Professor Juliana Gondek has shared the following good news with us today:

Two graduates of UCLA?s prestigious Voice and Opera Studies degree program, mezzo-soprano Peabody Southwell (MM Voice Performance) and bass-baritone Evan Hughes (BA Voice Performance), have been nominated for the first ?Warner Music Prize,? which includes a $100,000 cash prize, a Carnegie Hall recital, and a recording offer from Warner Classics. Peabody, Evan, and 14 additional vocalists and instrumentalists between the ages of 18 and 35 have been selected by a jury of music professionals for consideration for this award.
