We have heard from Prof. Bull about his many activities coming up this fall:

“Dear friends and music friends:

I hope you had a great summer and are having a wonderful autumn.

My summer was action-packed with organ concerts at the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, and the International Organ Festival in D?sseldorf, Germany + recording with one of Germany?s top producers in my hometown of Mannheim and spending quality time with family while there.

Now my Fall schedule is kicking in high gear and I would like to invite you to a number of exciting and varied organ events.

Here?s an overview (you?ll find the pertinent details further below):

I?m starting my new position as organist-in-residence at First Congregational Church of Los Angeles today, Friday evening, by participating in the Bach Festival Anniversary Party at 6:30 pm and Laser Concert at 8 pm. My first Sunday at FCCLA is this Sunday, October 20. I?ll be playing the first of weekly half-hour Preludes/Mini-Concerts at 10:30 a.m. My first solo organ concert there will be on December 8 at 3 p.m.

I?m thrilled to have the opportunity to regularly perform on one of the most famous pipe organs in the world ? the largest in a church, with true acoustic surround sound (pipes in the front, on the sides, and in the back) ? and to join a terrific team there.

I?m very grateful for a wonderful time at First United Methodist Church of Santa Monica where I was Principal Organist between 2007 and 2013. I intend to keep a relationship with this church, starting with a midday organ concert next May.

On November 24, I?m having a very full day, playing at FCCLA in the morning, teaming up with trumpet virtuoso Jens Lindemann for a Baroque-to-Jazz program at Ascension Lutheran Church in Thousand Oaks in the afternoon and joining conductor James Conlon, the Colburn Orchestra and many others for a performance of Benjamin Britten?s War Requiem at Segerstrom Hall in Costa Mesa in the evening. The Britten performance will be repeated the next day, November 25, at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

It?s a great joy and privilege to play this assortment of notable and unique pipe organs in a short period of time. But the greatest joy and privilege has been becoming a father to Maximilian Adrian Sebastian Bull who will soon be seven months old. His mother I-Chin, Max and I are competing daily for the highest number of smiles and there?s an unlimited supply. Needless to say, Max is very much into music, including Glenn Gould?s interpretation of the Well-Tempered Clavier, Wings? Red Rose Speedway and 70s Disco.

Thanks for your continued interest in my musical and other adventures, wishing you many blessings,
