July 31st, 2012 · No Comments

This weekend our own graduate, Tracy Cox (2010’s LA Opera Young Artist of the Year) won the Marilyn Horne Vocal Song competition. One of the songs she sang was our own Mark Carlson’s song, “Cuando yo muero” (When I die) from “Cuatro sonetos de amor”, on sonnets by Neruda.

More information can be found on the website of the Music Academy of the West, at:

Marilyn Horne Song Competition

Congratulations, Tracy! Congratulatiosn, Mark!

And last year this contest was won by another one of our graduates, Karen Vuong! Our voice faculty deserve recognition also for their excellent teaching and preparation of our voice students.
