June 14th, 2010 · 2 Comments

We have heard from Tamir Hendelman, Ethnomusicology faculty member and professor of jazz theory and improvisation regarding his summer plans. He says:

“I will be touring with the Jeff Hamilton Trio on these dates:

Jardine?s, Kansas City July 16-17
San Jose Jazz Fest Aug 15
Yoshi?s Oakland Aug 16
Vail Jazz Festival Sept 3-6
Dazzle, Denver Sept 8-9

And will record on composer/conductor Pat Williams? next big band recording in August as well as Dutch vocalist Trenje?s upcoming collaboration with the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.

My own new CD, DESTINATIONS, featuring Lewis Nash (drums) and Marco Panascia (bass) will be released August 10 on Resonance Records.

Info on CD release concerts will soon be posted at:

I will also be giving some music workshops at my Tarzana home studio, starting with a Cole Porter workshop on June 26.”

Sounds like a fun and busy summer for Tamir!
