year's winners of the annual All-Star Competition.  They are as follows:

Shota Homma, piano (second-year BA; Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 3; Mvt. I)
Jared Jones, baritone (first-year MM; Mahler Rückert Songs)
Vanessa Lopez, flute (third-year BA; Ibert Flute Concerto; Mvt. III)
Euan Shields, cello (first-year BA; Schumann Cello Concerto; Mvt. I)
Sophia Su, piano (first-year BA; Mendelssohn Piano Concerto No. 1; Mvt. III)
Tiffany Wee, violin (second-year BA; Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 2; Mvt. I)
Sarah Worden, violin (fourth-year BA; Brahms Violin Concerto; Mvt. I)

Adjudicators were:  Lucinda Carver (USC Thornton School of Music Vice Dean of the Division of Classical Performance and Composition and Professor of Practice) and David Goodman (composer, pianist, conductor and Santa Monica College Professor of Theory, Composition and Music Technology).


The All-Star Concert with UCLA Philharmonia will be 8 PM Thursday, February 8, 2018 in Royce Hall.
