All-Star Competition
Audition date: October 10, 2008 (morning and afternoon)
Audition application deadline: October 6, 2008 (teacher signature required)
Performance date: November 20, 2008 with UCLA Philharmonia
Eligibility: All music major instrumentalists and singers; concertos for multiple instruments may also be performed
Repertoire: Limited to 20 minutes; singers may audition with non-operatic repertoire only
Accompaniment policy: Repertoire must be performed with accompaniment; auditioners must provide their own accompanists
Memorization policy: Contestants shall make every effort to perform their concertos from memory. If memorization places an unusual burden on the contestants or, in his or her opinion, could seriously compromise the quality of the audition, music may be used without penalty. In any case, the goal should be a fluent and assured performance, delivered as if from memory.
Piano Competition
Audition date: Winter quarter 2009 TBA
Audition deadline: Winter quarter 2009 TBA
Performance date: Spring quarter 2009 TBA with UCLA Philharmonia
Eligibility: All piano majors
Repertoire: Complete concerto; auditioners’ choice

All auditions will be held in Popper Auditoriuim.
Application forms will be available in the Student Services Office at the beginning of fall quarter.
