CHRISTOPHER COOPER is a Grammy nominated artist who has thrilled audiences all around the world. At the age of twenty-two, Chris began his career working with the Empire Brass out of Boston. After touring and teaching constantly for two years he decided to study again and moved to San Francisco after hearing a recording of David Krehbiel, principal horn of the San Francisco Symphony. After finishing their work together, Chris got a call from the Canadian Brass and was off on tour again. He has played in just about every major concert hall in the world, given master classes in twenty countries and made numerous recordings. He has been nominated for a Grammy, received an honorary doctorate, and won the prestigious Echo Klassic award in Germany. After touring enough, Chris went home where he became an acting member of the San Francisco Symphony for nine years. He is also active in film, television, and video game score recording. During the summer he is principal horn of the Carmel Bach Festival where he has been a soloist on the natural and baroque horn. Chris studied at Boston University in the School for the Arts, and the San Francisco Conservatory. When not playing or teaching, Chris loves to hang out with his wife Gina who plays viola in the San Francisco Symphony and their twin boys Ed and Joe. Chris is also an avid cyclist and is working toward his black belt in Kenpo karate.
